3/21/2024 0 Comments Honda passport 2019 picturesYour hats, gloves, and sunglasses will never be wanting for space in a Passport. The centre console has a roll-top lid and plenty of space for purses or bags. The Passport interior is practically made out of cubbies and I counted a full 14 cubbies and cupholders in the front seat area alone. Plop down in the front seats and you would swear Honda engineers are getting paid per cubby-hole. Most definitely enough space for a ski weekend at Mont Tremblant or elsewhere. That’s roughly 1.5x the storage space you’d find in a CR-V. Despite the cropped tail, the Passport has a full 1,430 litres of space with the rear seats folded up and a positively cavernous 2,854 L with the rear seats folded flat. Our tester averaged 10.2 L/100 km in our mixed driving segment which is pretty close to the official 12.5 city, 9.8 highway numbers.īut just like a mullet, the party is in the back. The engine itself sounds great and has plenty of shove when prodded. You can also bully the transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters but the Passport clearly doesn’t like such tomfoolery and you’re better off slotting the shifter into “S” if you want to get zesty in your AWD SUV. Despite having nine gears to choose from, the auto seems to always be in the right one and doesn’t “hunt” for gears during driving. As a whole, the powertrain works very nicely. All Canadian Passports will arrive with AWD and there is no FWD option. The transmission is a nine-speed automatic unit, greatly improved from Honda’s past 9-speeds. The engine makes a solid 280 hp way up at 6,000 rpm and 262 lb.-ft. Up front is a 3.5L SOHC V6 with not a turbo to be seen, a rare sight in 2019. No matter what trim you select, you get the same powertrain. Selecting the Touring box gets you ventilated front seats, a wireless charging pad, rain sensing wipers, a power liftgate and other premium goodies. The Passport is available in three trims starting at the $41,990 Sport, the mid-level $45,590 EXL, and the range-topping $48,990 Touring test car. Every Passport sold in Canada gets a heated steering wheel too. Front seat heating comes standard and rear seat heating is found on all but the base Sport trim. OKĪnd you won’t have to worry about being cold, either, because the front and rear seats are heated in top-trim Touring models. You may use a different browser or device to view this in full screen.
